I board, have been for a few years now. I tried skiing last year and just couldnt get the hang of it, it's just not for me.
That being said, I think skiers have it a little better. You can move around on level ground, and mogels are actually fun. It's possible to do more on skies, and there isn't anything that you can do on a snowboard that you can't do on skies.
On the other side, everything that has to do with skies tends to be quite a bit more expensive. I have a nice set of vans snowboard boots, top of the line a few years back, picked them up for about $375. That will get you an ok ski boot, but they go clear up into the thousands. That's just one example...
