Very well said Devil!! That was the reason me and some north of the border friends jumped in. Good fun n learn strategies, build n rebuild, gettin pissed n gettin paid. Excellent performance in sf this game needs more of this, giving pet names to turf and sentimental attachments are ridiculous!! Much respect!!!

It was fun to go against you, but in the end, there really wasn't anything any of us could have done. You were far too well positioned & had far too many resources. The most we could hope to say is that we slowed you down & forced a few extra stamina recharges!
Look at the map again Matt. You were not in on the planning but "project malaria" took 37 of nixon's turfs this morning as a test all at one time by player Willie Wonka. Look at the bay bridge approach. Willie can't be touched and is free to move about the city and plant turf wherever needed. What you are seeing there is the beginning of the actual end game.
As for nixon, yes he is truly a class act and it was a real hoot to go gunning for him. I want to thank all the hired guns that came to town for the event. It was a whole lot of fun and what turf wars is all about.
What nixon says is correct about sf being a noob sanctuary for a week after we clean up.

I don't know if it's an end game but it is an effective strategy. Once the fight has started you either win immediately or you force at best a stalemate. Malaria would be totally effective if staged at the beginning rather then at the end. But that's always the case with any strategy.
I'd say it was a very good strategy over all, for sure. If sustained you could start the downward spiral of any player. First for them to remove weapons and then using their anger against them, provoking them to fight back making them spend their savings and eventually you've cost them all their turf, all their money and they have to start over, grinding. The obvious defense is to be calm and plot a long term revenge instead of wanting to win right away. Withdraw and regroup. But withdraw will work against any strategy.
-
Devil, what would have happened if the fighting continued? I figured you'd last another 3 weeks with influence that low. (unless u raised all inlfuence to max when no one noticed for a few hours to make up the lost upkeep) P.S. Well done in sf. I appreciate your game play and attitude. you should get free don points for making the game fun.

The devil said it right. Thanks for bringing to light what matters. And to the big players going against devil, u had yr chance but were def slow to react. Sf is a city of 1 & i respect all for going against devil. Playing catch up is no fun, & strategy is about being ahead which is over already. Project Malaria def shorten the duration that could have lasted longer if u guys had not figured it out sooner.. Respect to all players! And this is NOT a THUG life thread. So pls bring yr bitch somewhere else.

Yes indeed. In this game there is no way to lose mob members which is the REAL source of your power. As long as you have your mob you can ALWAYS regroup somewhere and eventually get your weapons back. So remember boys and girls: Mob up!

Our entire goal was to take on the devil in a way that we thought he'd appreciate. He wanted SF to be for the little guys and we thought it would be poetic to have the little guys take the city from him. Malaria was composed of many players besides just the mosquitos and their hired guns. We had long distance bombardiers from LA to canada to denver all pounding away to keep turf low yes but mostly that was designed to scroll the news so he wouldn't be able to see where the turf went to. Sadly malaria was never launched in total. All the pieces were tested and only one mosquito went into action taking 37 turf in about 10 minutes. We had 3 others in the city waiting. The plan was to launch all four at the same time while the bombardiers kept the news scrolling. We figured each wave would get around 100 turf and we could get way with 2 waves.
Obviously, we will never know for sure just how far down he would have been taken. Not all the way thats for sure since as I said above, he still has his mob.
-
Nice sharing Jim! I am sure the logistics was kinda fun & messy at the same time. It's indeed a waste cuz now we would nvr know the extend of the 'battle'. Which goes to me reiterating my respect to all the players of project malaria & also the devil. I m sure(or rather hoping) the 'cleansing' won't end here...
-
Once we had his turf and income cut in half, we realized there would come a point where he would be able to build turf again. And that is where you get stuck. If SF is the only battleground, then fine, you blanket it like he had done before he launched but then you become the giant and he is the mosquito. I'm certain he could find guns to hire too.
Given that he can go anywhere, there is no real way to "force" it to come to an end. Sure we had players on the bridges and left the southern route looking open since that is a longer path to go to come to us but even then you run out of place to constrict his movements. Esp since at the very worst all he has to do is jump in a car and drive past you and plant turf elsewhere. (yes, we had someone go through his entire turf list and see where everything was. That's how we noticed the farillon islands.)
-
The only way that this comes to and end is when the combatants lose their will to keep it going. But that describes any battle really.
Oh and for the record, SF was never a city of one. Metonymie was doing his best to be a constant distraction somewhere around the mission district. He established an LZ there and never let it go. True he could never get any traction due to the 24 rule on new turf but he did draw attention there instead of where we were working. At that, he was very effective.
During my talks with the devil, I hinted about malaria and indicated that it would be a surprise. He thought I was referring to the "caravan" on the bay bridge. If he ever noticed willie and his 1 influence turfs sitting just off the end of the bridge and the embarcadero area, he never realized their potential.
-
So I guess what I wanted to give to everyone as a result of this is how to use little players to be the delivery system for your weapons when fighting an entrenched giant. It's pretty obvious when you think about it but in the heat of things while the big boys are slugging it out, almost no one notices the little guys slinking around and camping in the shadows.
That changes when he suddenly pulls out 8000 tommy guns. Gad zooks, I love this game. :)
-
That was an excellent read, Jim. And an excellent strategy.
Very nice.

Nixon told me he did exactly what I did...
Only difference is that cali didnt whine like davey boy and the cms...
Dont give me that i did that shit thats all lies...
I even helped cms member...
I started this gangsta sh1t and this mofo thanks I get ?

I'd actually been planning this for over a month. I sold my weapons and was making insane amounts of money for that time. I figured worse case I'd have to last with no income and in the red, so to answer your questions, with no income, I had just enough to last for 300 or so days; depending on if I added mob and weapons or not. But when I bought all the tommy guns that did half that. Still, 150 days is a long time.
-
If I hadn't been planing for a month and for the worse case then malaria would have been totally effective. It's a good strategy regardless though, unbeatable in the short term. But it has one clear weakness. It depends on small players who don't have the resources to build as quickly or it depends on large players who are willing to tear down their turf. But, because it is done in reaction to another players actions, they can't have planned for as long, so they may not have the resources saved to sustain that type of playing.
On the other hand even with my planning I didn't factor in building turfs to jump around, which would have killed my bottom line. So that weakness cuts both ways.
-
@thuglife People did complain at first, but I didn't make it worse by lashing out at them. If you keep your cool then things stay cool.
-
I agree but you didnt had a davey boy and the cms jealous and scared of your skills that still to this day tell people lies to get em to remove me from their mobs...
-
Yeah I realized that malaria's weakness would be the little guys lack of resources. Indeed we saw some of those limitations when placing some of the other mosquitos. Willie wonka was the ideal mosquito cause he had over 1 billion in the bank. They are also weak in the sense that they don't play as often so they are a little slow to respond. One pleasant surprise for me though: Willie reported that due to his ultra low inf, building turf in the heart of sf was dirt cheap as was healing during battle. He also reported that he could cap turf at long range without having raise the attacking turf's inf. I didn't expect that.
-
Oh and Willie is dying to get on here and talk about it himself but he's 11 years old and his mom won't let him make posts. She's a little protective where her kids are concerned. I can respect that. I can also respect willie's integrity to play the game while abiding by her wishes.
Oh yeah.... He said capping the devils turf felt "awesome". The hardest part was waiting the 24 hours after placing his turf.
