iPhone sim unlock software??

Any one know of software to unlock an iPhone so you can use other sim cards? Everything I find online doesn't seem legit.

Sure they do. They were first released with AT&T which uses sim then verizon which doesn't. At least in the US.

Do they also not have batteries?
iPhones do have sims. I had to get mine cut down to fit the slot in my iphone 4 when I took it outta my old phone.

That seems to be for jailbreaking. I don't want to Jailbreak. I want the sim unlocked so I can use another carrier or a prepaid sim outside the us.

You'd have to jb, then unlock. Depending on your baseband, it can be easy or difficult. Google 'check your baseband'. It should be under Settings>General>About. Look for 'modem firmware', then report back. Also, what model iPhone do you have?

First of all...All (GSM) iPhones use sim cards. Even though they're no longer used to store contact info like in earlier phones, the phone still needs one in order to communicate with the network. The CDMA version of the iPhone (exclussively for Verizon) does not require a sim nor does it even have a slot for one to go in.

To find out exactly what kind of phone you have, go to www.everymac.com and click on the link "Ultimate Mac Lookup" to enter the model # located on the back of your phone.

Depending on the phone model, the currently installed firmware, AND the baseband, the next steps in the proccess will vary accordingly.

If you happen to have the (GSM) iPhone 4 then go to www.unlockiphone4info.com.

Sim cards are generally used for global networks nowadays. VZW iPhone 4s does have a sim card (I'm pretty sure) which allows it to be used globally. I'm speaking of American based iPhones btw. The regular VZW iPhone 4 does not have the ability to be used over seas from what I understand.

Funny, I just need a paperclip. 😳 and the paperclip ejects the tray just like they do right in the store (with their paperclip, too, sometimes) so I'd be curious as to how that voids the warranty though I totally believe it.

It is for my parents. I think I will just have them take it to someone. All the software sites seem bogus and they don't want to jailbreak.

Obv they'd have to prove you did it...but I don't doubt if they could it might void some aspect relating to the sim card functions. Me? I don't see how they could prove it...ya know...unless you did something boneheaded with the card or the tray.
