Military pilots use callsigns to identify each other when making radio calls, etc. A callsign is GIVEN, not REQUESTED, so you don't get a choice of your callsign. Your peers or commanding officers give it to you as they learn more about you by flying and working with you.
As a result, due to my dry, sarcastic, sense of humor (and stunning good looks), a Major in the USAF dubbed me "Groucho" over beers at a squadron party and it stuck. I have been Groucho ever since.

Kilgore Trout was a character in several of Kurt Vonnegut's novels including Breakfast of Champions and Slaughterhouse Five (to name a few). On a personal note, I was in a rock band called Kilgore Trout for 5 years during and after my college years, and I still keep in touch with most of my old bandmates.
Kudos to the thread creator. This was an interesting thread to read (unlike most of the 💩 that has been posted recently).

My first name (Ze MFkka) was a contraction of Ze + a couple of other words (not gonna say here lol)
My new name was inspired by Add Swagger: cool guy, and I loved the idea of free code advertisement. Swagger ftw 😉👍✌ -
