I was going to say Superman, obviously. But you said "real", so I have to go with any one of the last wave of fire fighters to enter the world trade center. You could see on their faces that they new they were going to die. They grabbed their oxygen bottles and marched in. All of them. They marched in for the hope of saving some lives, however slim that chance was.

You can see it in that real-time 9-11 documentary.

Those are real super-heroes.
