I just finished watching the new Lucas film, Red Tails about the Tuskegee Airmen. Anyone else seen it or plan on watching it soon? If you haven't heard of it I highly recommend youtubing the trailer.

Really... Is it worth a watch? It threw me that he couldn't get anyone to back him with this movie.

Yeah I saw on Jon Stewart that none of the big production companies would touch it. Good for George to take it on and pay these heroes a tribute. There is an older movie called the Tuskegee Airmen that is good too.Really... Is it worth a watch? It threw me that he couldn't get anyone to back him with this movie.

It seems like there have been other movies on this same subject many times, I suspect this contributed to the lack of support.

I thought the same. There's a movie called The Tuskeegee airmen that's pretty good for its age. Hollywoods running outta ideas that's why. Has been for awhile. It seems like there have been other movies on this same subject many times, I suspect this contributed to the lack of support.

They dropped the ball on this one. Especially since Black History Month is around the corner. Nothing but money to be made. If Hollywood producers got their fingers in it, Ryan Gosling would surely have been in it. What movie HASN'T he been in lately? I feel like a tramp paying $20 every weekend to be with Ryan.It seems like there have been other movies on this same subject many times, I suspect this contributed to the lack of support.

My grandma doesn't want to see it. She wants someone to make one about the fact that they did the same thing to Slovenian people then (she's Slovenian) but says black people always get credit.
Did I mention she's racist?
I want to see it tho. Looks good

I want to go see it soon. I've met several of the surviving Tuskegee Airmen while working the airs how circuit and at different aviation banquets, etc. Every one of these outstanding Americans are sharp as a tack and humble as well.
The Red Tailed P-51's, never lost a single B-17 to enemy action in all the escort missions they ever flew. That is incredible considering the average life expectancy of a B-17 crew was 3-7 missions before they arrived.
I salute these brave men and all the rest of our Armed Forces both past and present for their sacrifice to their country.

It's a really good movie. It's such a change from how they'd been employed in the army before as mine detectors or stewards to officers etc. to becoming pilots. Not many people even knew that they existed until the movie came out.

Groucho, I meet a few also. Every single one of them is Sierra Hotel. They are the reason I am a pilot and the reason I am in the Air Force. Its amazing that they had to earn the Double-V and not end up bitter.I want to go see it soon.
