Taking the missus this year for her birthday to NYC
Waldorf November thanksgiving time, any ideas on places to visit appreciated -
Top of the Rock, great views of the city and central park. I love going at night, the city looks amazing with all the lights.
-
Grey Papaya has the best hot dogs anywhere
-
Go up to Columbia campus. Great bars, great food, and cathedral of st. John the divine. Maybe not in that order. Even if not religious, it is a great space.
-
Go see the statue of liberty, if you buy tickets in advance you can buy crown tickets to go inside to the crown. You can't buy these tickets the day of, it has to be in advance to get the crown tickets. (this was the policy last year the last time I went)
-
November is also a good time of the year to go to FAO Schwarz ( it will be crowded though). It's cool as hell playin on the BIG piano. I loved that movie as a kid.
-
Just walking through soho and greenwich village is always cool. The high line is also really cool. See museums like the met and MoMA. They are really good. Also canal street is interesting.
-
Go to Arthur Ave in the Bronx - the real Little Italy - and have dinner. Walk the Brooklyn Promenade. Take the Staten Island Ferry (the free way to see the Statue of Liberty, albeit from a distance). Get some real pastrami at Katz' Deli on Houston St. Go see some NYC graffiti at 5 Pointz in Queens. Hey, with the weather changing so much, you never know... there could even be a little color left on the trees in Central Park.

How long are you planning on staying?

Go to Kips Bay Archstone apartments ask that you would like to see the roof should be able to see the whole city from that vantage point (by any chance you go there could you possibly check out a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment any one one with an overlook by any chance this is foolish I know but still look at the city from the roof)

Is this your first time visiting? If so, you should see all the tourist sights, but if you've been to NYC before I would recommend just walking around. If its sunny it's fun to walk across the Williamsburg bridge. Also you should make sure to get pizza. Johns pizzeria is good. There's also one in soho that I like a lot. I don't remember the name though. The other essential thing would be to go to museums. If you don't want to go to a place like the met, the tenement museum is cool and really shows you what tenements were like. It's more of a hands on place.Big Steve99 wrote:
