True I had a iPod touch 2gen mc modle 3.1.3 it's the hardist to jailbrake of the iPhones and iPod touches and it jail broke!!!

U won't be albe to update now as the last update did not work on jailbroken devices and I'm talking about iTunes updates!

Nope haven't Jailbroken my 2G iPod touch, and don't plan on doing so (as of now).

I jailbroken my 8gig 2nd gen mc model (the same as jonese1234) on 3.1.2 yesterday. Mostly did it for multitasking cause iPhone os 4.0 only has multitasking on iPhone 3gs or iPod touch 3gen. I used the spirit jailbreak on my mac. Works great and really easy. Btw anybody who unlocks, don't use the spirit jailbreak or it will remove your unlock.

So what about if I wanna keep my same network will it still work
the spirit jailbreak will only work on activated iphones (aka are on AT&T or whatever carrier you may have outside the us) so if your not on an official carrier supported by apple, the spirit jailbreak won't work or it'll take off the unlock. I'm not sure which but all I know is that it isn't a smart idea to jailbreak an unlocked iPhone using spirit

I have itouch and iys working without flaw since it came out, as to what iggy is saying that pertains to iphone then i have no idea

haha sorry got into a nerd rant there. Here's the definitions. Unlocking- using software to "unlock" your iPhone to use other sim cards instead of the officialy approved service provider
UNLOCKING
iPhone-yes
iPod touch-no
ipad-no the 3g version is already unlocked, just uses micro sim card
Jailbreak- to open and iPhone or iPod touch to alternate app stores such as cydia. Frees you device from any restriction apple creates.
JAILBREAKING
IPhone-yes
iPod touch-yes
