After having a discussion with the family while watching robin hood, someone made a joke about going from a monarchy to a socialist society. That got me thinking, can anyone think of another TRUE socialist society that existed?

Another? A monarchy is not a true socialist society. There's never been a true socialist society because it can not exist. There will always be those who achieve and those who do not. Equality in all things will never exist.

I know a monarchy is not a socialist society, it's whole basis of power is one man who's power was instilled by god to rule. I'm aware that it almost never exists in real life, that's why the only example I can think of is the fictional story of robin hood, I was asking if anyone knew of another example

Depends what you class as "society". I am guessing you mean by state, I.e. A national economic ideology. And also contrary to the point above, socialism doesn't necessarily mean everyone being equal. History has taught us that humans need leadership, and anarchical "societies" without it had not survived long enough to be recorded. A monarchy is not socialism as monarchy by definition is a religious hierarchical structure. Power and land was delegated by noble creed. So I would like to know how you came to that conclusion?
