I have done both as well. With so much opposition I can't see it passing. If it does I believe riots will follow

You're very welcome. :)
Now on a serious note.... Why are people so opposed to preventing the theft of other peoples property?
Can someone point me in the direction of some objective sites for more info? Not some scare monger site only giving opinions and misinformation. Is there a site we can view the bill itself? All the ones I can find are simply peoe making assumptions of what 'could happen' as a result of this being passed.
Thanks

*Peoe = People lol

Sure I'd love to read it, but as a non-conformist I'm opposed to anything groups of people want. So I'm not for SOPA but neither am I against it... I'd elaborate, but I've got a kingdom to oversee

From what i understand if this bill passes it basicly makes the entertanment idustry in control of the internet. There are many huge sites that would be shut down instantly for showing moives and music. Next the search engines would be shut down for having a link to these sites. Facebook could be shut down if they don't block a user that posts a link to these sites. There are many more things that WOULD happen.₲rээƞℳɑƞ×℘ӈìℓɛ wrote:

God forbid they shut down Facebook. I mean OMG😱 people would actually have to get up and do things. That would be terrible to say the least....

I signed ages ago, I've known about this for a long time, got annoyed at alot of people that didn't but I guess I roll in different circles online.

Dont get me wrong here, Im not saying i agree with it or against it. I just think there seems to be a lot of scare tactics being used by those who oppose it. I cant find many statements that are giving factual accounts of what is actally contained in the literature of the bill.
Personally I cant draw conclusions until i have two sides of a penny in front of me. Not just the tech world throwing toys out the pram!
There is a very real and very criminal element to it though. By means of SOPA or another bill, it should be dealt with as such.
Someone breaks down your door and steals your TV, you want action. All it boils down to is someone wanting to protect what belongs to them.
Perhaps SOPA is a poorly put together bill, I cant find enough info about it to say but I dont think the majority of people protesting about it know a great deal either. Internet fat cats, criminals and liars have far too much influence over web based communities.

That's exactly the issue with the sopa proposal, the wording is too general and vague, it allows the governments alot of leeway to interpret and abuse as they wish.
Interesting point, the same people who came up with the file sharing software are the same people now penalising people for using it. -

Im sorry but my google skills obviously lack in areas. I still cant find anywhere to actually see it word for word.

The Wikipedia entries actually have links to the fully worded bills--here's their link for SOPA. Other ref's there, too.

I set up a spambot to flood the supporters with 1000000 additional emails a day. I am so awesome!

I always read the whole bill, too...even if I'm pretty sure I'm for or against it. Good to be informed. Wiki has a personal beef on this one so they're pretty accurate with their information.⌖🔥💋Ultra💋🔥⌖ wrote:

It is essentially censorship. Your Facebook page could be blocked in America if you posted a video on YouTube of some song you like. A large record company could have some issues with another smaller one, hunt around their site and get it blocked. With enough money, anything is possible. The bill is not specific enough. Plus, I bet people will find ways to get around this.
