Yeah, I have been around some. I haven't been one myself though, so I could just be wrong because I don't have that viewpoint.I think people that hasn't been around an addict or been one themsleves has the proper experiences to form a valid opinion on this subject. Addiction is a disease that affects not only the user but the people around them as well.

Im 23 and been to 4 log term in patient rehabs for severe drug addiction. Been on paper since I was 18 and got 3 yrs to go. I should be an alcoholic. I've worked all 12 steps twice. But aa doesn't do anything for me but it really helped my dad. And I learned a lot about life in those places. And I've gone through binges. But I must have grown out of it. Idk, idw to belittle others struggles. But as hard as it was for me to quit my addictions, I just grew up. Only reason I did it in the first place was bc I was an immature spoiled brat. I'll be clean 3 years on the 20th of may. Unless u count weed and beer. I love that shit!

So is being illiterate. Do your research people. There is an alcoholism gene that can be passed on. The medical industry classfies it as a treatable disease. Who knows better about this, you or the Mayo Clinic? 😒

Wow, just read the 12 step program.
That reads just like a cult. -

Declared a disease by the AMA in 1957. Bodies of alcoholics process alcohol differently then "normal" people.
If anyone questions I suggest they read the book Alcoholics Anonymous. It's a disease I wouldn't wish on anyone cuz it's a bitch.
