Anyone have anything from crkt kershaw benchmade or coldsteel? I want to get a hard use folding knife for $100 and under
-
Kershaws are nice.. If you don't mind me asking whats the purpose of the knife? You looking for a fliet, general purpose, personnel protection? ..
I carry a really cheap ( around 12 bones) smith & wesson extremeOps knife for general purposes. I own a landscaping biss. So I tend to cut bags plants ropes/twine. For all around it's a really decient knife. Stays sharp, and holds it..but cheap enough I if needed it I can toss it and get a new one.. -
I want something I can take camping and that could be a tactical blade if need be, I already have a small kershaw OD-1 and I love it for EDC but it's not built or hard jobs

Yea there isn't a lot of quality folding knives that r cheap and all purpose. Cuda knives are really good and useful but there expensive. But there worth it my dad has had one for over 15 years, he uses it for all types of tasks and it's still sharp. A good cheap boot knife is the gerber guardian back up. A great out doors knife that can be used for everything, (its not folding) but still can be used in combat is the bear grylls gerber knife which is 40$, but if u get the full pack (which comes with flint, a whet stone, a whistle, and much more) its about 60-70$ depending on where u buy it.

I do not like gerber for their lack of quality control the last one I had was a mini fast draw and the piston lock failed and would nor engage, this happened from opening it...Yea there isn't a lot of quality folding knives that r cheap and all purpose. Also Emerson's are excellent folding knives too but they r expensive but if u invest money into one you wouldn regret it.

Just get a Mora for camping and a SAK for your pocket. You don't need to spend $100 for marketing and design. The mora/sak combo will run about $50 and is better steel than those kershaw/coldsteel prettyboy knives.

Spyderco have some very good knives under $100. Some are even made in USA.

The one in my pocket right now has been there ten years. It's just a little utility pocket knife. They hold up well for me but I don't expect a lot from them. And they have a corkscrew. :)Fong wrote:

I have a few myself and they do ok. It you're going that route get a soldier or a pioneer. The metal handles are way classier :)⌖🔥Belial🔥⌖ wrote:

Never held one of their knives, don't hear good things about them
As for spyderco I think they are too much money and not that much quality... I'd rather vet a benchmade. -
