I realize it was Unlucky Friday the 13ty today. Where exactly did that superstishun (I know I can't spell it) come from anyways? I heard from a guy awhile in RL it was in a Thursday the 12th an earthquake hit a town abd they feared a worse disaster on Friday the 13th but it never came.

Check up on google, research might go back to ancient times (Victorian or dark ages). Supposed to be one of the 2 favourite dates for dark magic, witches and warlocks (the other date being Halloween)

The King envied their wealth accumulated from their extensive early banking systems throughout Europe. The King was nearly broke, and the Pope plotted with the king for his cut, and gave his order as well that they were heretics. Quite the backstab. Hence Friday the 13th became an unlucky day.

Yes, Jacques DeMolay the last grand master of the Templars was executed along with Godfrey de Gonville, Guy of Auvergne, and hughes de peralde(prenounced pa,rall) after the inquisitors tried to bribe Demolay to give up the names of the other members(and failed) they sent Demolay along with auvergne to the stake. Legend says that Demolay before he was burned alive said they were cursed, the king and the master inquisitor bother died 2 weeks later.icemanian wrote:

I think 13 is just a weird number so people made up bad things about it

That makes no sense whatsoever. 13 is just weird so people just started a centuries long practice of making up stories regarding it? Why did the first guy find 13 weird? What made 13 weird? Just because? I mean you couldn't have just come to that explanation based on any rational thought. Traditions this old don't just appear and endure without some noticeable event that compelled people to spread word of it.I think 13 is just a weird number so people made up bad things about it

Greenman is correct.

The last words that DeMolay supposedly spoke was, "So help me God and keep me steadfast."

The Knights Templar wore white uniforms with a red cross on their chest. When they were hunted down, many fled into the mountains, more specifically Switzerland. They took they knowledge of the banking system with them and developed it there. Switzerland is known for having an efficient banking system. If you look at the Swiss flag it is red with a white cross in it inverting the colors that were once used by the Knights Templar. It was there way of saying, "We are still here."

Also some people believe that pirate flag originated from the way the templars buried their fallen(the skull and cross bones) because the templars crossed the hands over the chest. But it's only theory and hasn't been proofed fact.Check out a picture of Chrsitopher Columbus' sails.

Some people believe that the Templar helped fund the voyage and Spain simply gave their permission. I have also heard that his sailors were from the local Spanish prisons and if he were going to in fact sail away and possibly fall off the Earth, then their prisons would be empty. If he found a faster trade route to India, they would be just as happy. It was kind of a win-win. However, whether this is true or not, it would be difficult to prove if this is even factual.
