I am a poet. Not published or well known but I have my poems on my blog.
Here is my most recent

As another night close
My mind opens
Out flows the river
Flood the room
With crystal memories
And blurred feelings
This just another night for me
The first of seven of this week
And when I do sleep
I will be where I what to be
Back into history
Where you always are
Clear as crystal to me
But that's not be
For history
Is only of memory
And memories
Are of historys
Long past
But unfaded
One more night
I spend in my dreams
Where you fill my fantasy
Where it is the way it's meant to be

I dabbed a little bit in poetry my self. I made a poem that would go with a cross I got my sister when she went off to college and still keep a copy of it. Hold on.

Hmm, a bit of grammar twists that took me a bit to get but other than that I feel as if your trying to reach a imaginary person of some sort but come to the reality that your dreams are actually in reality in stead of your dreams.

May this jewel relight your fire for him,
May it defend his sheep from slaughter
For he is yours, his one true daughter
As the years go on and pass, may your love for him forever last
And may you have a child or two, for all his blessings are for you.

That real sweet (in both meanings). I like it. Does it refer to a God. Or another man for say a brother or significant other

It's a simple poem, but it's attracted to a object and selective person. Also I wrote a few songs for my friend on YouTube but they are political so I won't bring them up.

God because of the cross, and the neighbourhood isn't all that great, shootings, theft, drug dealers and other things.
