First build your mob here: http://www.ifriendcode.com/ and http://invitecodematrix.com/ over 1,000 codes right there.
Don't randomly ask for help from top mobsters. Even if they are willing, they are may be too far away, there's an attack range limit. Instead ask around your city/state for help. DO NOT talk trash on your opponent's comment section, that just feeds the fire.
ACCEPT that you AND your turfs WILL be attacked. The name of the game is attacking weaker players. There is ZERO reward for fighting someone stronger, you'll lose and waste your stamina and money.
READ the GET HELP button in the main menu, it answers a lot of questions we see in all the forums. RTFM.
Arm your mob with the best weapons/armor you can afford given your current income. Can't afford mini guns & RPG's, buy AK-47's. At the VERY minimum make sure to have 1 grenade and 1 kevlar vest per member, they have no upkeep.
Don't level up fast. All energy means you won't be able to defend yourself.

Read President Nixon's post on how to capture turf, if you know how to capture it you can also avoid it.
Most players will move on if asked politely to stop, this doesn't work for everyone, worth a try.
Before attacking someone, view their profile. Knowing you get 3 stat points a level, you can see what they have invested into health, energy and stamina. From there you can take a estimate to what their attack and defense values are. Also, just because someone has 600 members, have they armed each with a mini gun or RPG or did they just buy 30? You'd be surprised on how many just buy a few weapons.

The more new players know, the better off vets are and the game. If you know how to play the game, you can navigate it and become successful. It seems there are lot of players that just get frustrated and come to the boards and vent.
Oh there's another tip, don't come to the boards crying everyone should attack X. See my first post for dealing with this.

Great tips Tom 👍

Thanks ^_^
Another hint, don't ask someone for help to attack someone. They'll view your and their comments. 9/10 the person asking for help was the aggressor before, talking it up and now they are on the receiving end.If you can't dish it out, stay out of the kitchen.

Tip - Anyone in your mob us free game to attack. Your mob is just a number, the higher it is, the stronger you are. There are currently no alliances with mob members, in regards to game mechanics. Rumor has it that something of an alliance system us in the works.

Great advice!

I'd add to this.
Don't buy defensive upgrades for turf.
Buy defensive upgrades first then worry about attack. If your safe from attack you can grow at your own pace and attack when you're ready. This system favours defence. So protec first. Attack second. ( that's just my opinion)

The more, different players turf you have around yours means ALL the turfs make more income simply by being near.
The more diversity, the more income.
