Yes, you have to win. This reminds of the time when I wad a kid and played sports. If we wanted a trophy, we had to win. You know what you got for second place?

Nowadays, a kid plays sports and every-frigging-body and their grandmother gets a damn trophy. Even the last place team.

What kind of crap is that? How are you suppose to instill a proper work ethic and desire to excell and be the best you can be when you get a trophy for last damn place.

You know what you should get for last place? A mop, a plunger and keys to the locker room.
