I have been playing for almost a week now. (my invite code is Yins3714) and last night, two different players built inside my "daisy chain". They are more powerful than I am and it is cutting into my revenue stream.

Any suggestions?
Question 1 - when you tear down a piece of turf, do you recover half the costs like when you sell it?

Question 2 - Can I sell off all my upgrades and leave the property as a 1 influence to come back weeks later and take it up to 84 influence or will it be absorbed/taken by a stronger player?

Can you not afford to bring it up to 84 now? If you keep it at an influence that's less than 1/2 of theirs, it's less likely that they'll take it, since they'll either need to sell their own upgrades of build a new smaller turf near you.

Nope, it's 8 more levels until I get the Gambling Den. That's probably 2-3 days at this rate. Plus the guys who have built around/under me did it overnight meaning their resources are heavy.

Still looking for answers to #1 and #2.

Yes to both. A 1 inf turf is practically (if not entirely) impossible to capture.

I suggest reading the how to capture turf by pres. Nixon about 7 threads down, if you know how to capture turf, you know how to avoid it as well.
