Turf defensive upgrades

Is there any point in these? Would you even bother with them during a vendetta?

I think the only use to deffensive upgrades is for those who ether

A. Have alot of extra hourly income to kill
B. For a specific turf or few turfs that you need for (example:capo) or some other reason
and C. I don't know if you would need it for a vendetta but I think that your own choice. I guess you could try defence upgrades with turfs near or in capturing range of the opposing mobster.
