Guarantee win?
Forums › Help & Strategy › Guarantee win?-
Assume attacker has maximum attack and defender has maximum defence, what will be the mob advantage needed to guarantee a win for the attacker? I know that a factor of 1.3 (30% more mob) will give you a win rate about 50/50. But what is the factor that will give you 100% win rate? Will a factor of 1.4 be good enough?

Well, this really kind of depends on mob sizes. A factor of 1.4 against a defender of mob size 10 is only 14...a difference of only 4 RPGs...heck even your attack and defense stats could alter the battle at that point.
However, if the mob is, say 1000, a factor of 1.4 is 100 extra RPGs, which will probably make up for the difference.
I'd say that with a decent mob size that is properly equipped (max weapons/armor) you are probably going to win 99% of the time with a factor of 1.4.
Hope this helps!

My guess is that it doesn't calculate if the attacker wins but instead if the defender wins and this is a big difference. It probably does something very close to taking the difference between attackers attack and defenders defense as a percentage.(A/A+D)*100 = percentage chance for successful defense.
But lets look at that; If attackers attack (a) = 1 and defenders defense (d) = 1 that would be 100% defensive win. Basically if attack is equal to defense the defender always wins. I'll test that in the game at some point.
but,it's it's the case, that would mean in a hypothetical situation of (a)1300 vs. (d)1000 the the defender would repeal the attack 56% of the time or from the attackers perspective they would only win an attack 44% of the time. 1300/2300 = .56 * 100 = 56%.
If this is true, and I don't know if it is but it's my best guess, then only a factor of 2 would guarantee a win.

Lots of good theory - thanks guys- I would really like Nick to share the real facts about how this works- ie the actual logic.. My guess is that he doesn't because It will get too technical for most guys and he will be flooded with questions from people who flunked maths- shame really
