Can someone please explain the 30% rule?

How does it work?

So the game has a natural slant towards defense, so with all else being equal (attacker has rpg's and defender has mini's the attacker needs a 30% bigger mob to over come the natural attack deficit. Did I say that right?

Correction to my earlier post (that I deleted).
First you attack with the weapon with the highest attack stat & defend with the weapon that has the highest defense stat.
It's cause of the combined stats of the body armor & miniguns that creates the 30% factor.
Body Armor: att=2, def=15
Miniguns: att=18, def=16
RPG's: att=22, def=14Say you have a 1000 member mob; here's the breakdown:
Attacker: has 1000 x body armor & 1000 RPG's
att=(2+22)*1000 = 24,000
Defender: has 1000 x body armor & 1000 miniguns
def=(15+16)*1000 = 31,000Ratio: 24,000/31,000 = 1.2917 = roughly 30%
So the attacker needs to have 1.3*1000 mob members to win consistently which = 1300. -

My question is...why do you want to win consistently? Isn't the big question, what's the minimum attack you need to get at least one win (which is all you need to capture a turf).

I actually didn't mean win consistently, cause if att=def then it should be closer to 50/50 for winning fights.My question is...why do you want to win consistently? Isn't the big question, what's the minimum attack you need to get at least one win (which is all you need to capture a turf).
Then of course there is the super secret random factor that may or may not affect the result.
The only reason you would want to consistently win is if you were eyeing the top ten fight list leaderboard...

Good point Matt. Since I don't currently care about that, I guess I wasn't considering it.

I guess it would depend levels and turf count. In the beginning, fighting is an excellent source of revenue. And losing money hurts.

I think I may have seen the light!!! Is the 30% rule based on attack/defence point ratio rather than mob???? This would make more sense to me based what I am seeing in the game?

Close.
Mob determines how many weapons/armor you can use.
Attack/Defense points are calculated from the weapons and armor you have with respect to the mob you have.
So...if you have 100 miniguns but only 80 mob, only 80 weapons will go into the calculation.
The higher weapons will count first. For example, if you have 50 minis and 50 grenades and only 80 mob, it will calculate 50 minis and 30 grenades.
How you play will determine what weapons you want. If you attack a lot, you want weapons with the highest attack rating. If you don't attack much, but get attacked a lot, you want weapons with the highest defense.
-
Ultimately, while you can only use one weapon per mob member, you will still want to have Miniguns AND RPGs for each mob member. If you have 100 mob, you want 100 of each of those two weapons.
Why?
Because when you attack, the game will select the weapon with the highest attack rating. And when you defend (get attacked), the game will select the weapon with highest defense rating.
In addition you want armor for each mob member. Again, as you can only use one weapon at at time in any given fight, you can always use armor WITH weapons.
