  I'm trying to take over this base and not only is it inside my green area but it is encompassed by my base it's self. But it still says I'm too far away to capture it. What gives?

  It's not a glitch. Read the "How To: Use the capture checklist" in this forum and "overlapping a turf but it says I am too far away" in Technical Issues.
