GPS signal tips?

The GPS aspect of this game is what I love the most...but at times it can also drive me nuts because I can't get an immediate signal.

What tips do you have for initiating or maintaining a GPS signal/connection?

Additional info to above post: I connect via an iPhone 3G with latest OS.

They need to work on it. It has the worst location service of any game I know. I suppose they ignore GSM interpolation if GPS is weak.

Here's what you got to do. When you first launch the app you need to do a statue of liberty stance and hold your phone/itouch up in the air as high as possible. Guaranteed to work every time.

Street, if you told me that I could get a better signal by clenching the phone between my butt cheeks while doing downward-dog yoga pose, I would try it!!!!!

Haha! That's funny! What I do when I have a hard time getting a signal when I first log in is after about 20-30 seconds I go directly to the turf map and usually it grabs my location pretty quickly enabling me to do everything else in the game. Try that if you have trouble. Works for me.
