Can you get arrested on "risky" missions or any other missions? If so what are the consequences?

And does buying police protection stop it happening? Thanks!

No, you don't get arrested. Police protection keeps the cops off your back, so you can keep making money.

I heard you lose the money instead of making it but no one has reported anything actually happening due to the risk of a mission. Although if you have any risk that means you're not paying the cops protection so you're losing about half your income anyway, probably a bigger concern.
