Vendetta defense?

I know that if one or more of the players in a Vendetta that is targeting you is in the ER, then they don't participate in a Vendetta attack against you. But does the same work in Defense as well? For instance, if one of the 3 players is in ER...do only 2 of the players add their defense together to defend?...or do all 3 still add their defense? Typically stamina/health doesn't affect whether someone can defend...but I thought the rules might change for Vendettas.

I would imagine if they are in the ER and cannot participate, their health, stamina and mob would not participate as well.

Otherwise what's the point of sending them to the ER as a countermeasure?

It's hard to tell because when you're attacked it doesn't tell you who defended you in the summary in your messages, if I remember correctly. So I'd also guess that if they're in the ER they're not being used for defense.

When we were in beta stress Cali attacked my turf until my other vendetta participants were in thr er and then he was able to capture after about ten attacks. So I would conclude that the other players do not participate in defense while in er

Based on the vendetta description, I thought defense was out the window anyways. To me the whole concept is fubar'd.

Tom...if I'm understanding you correctly, you're thinking that you never get defense help from your fellow Vendetta allies when being attacked by your Vendetta targets?...regardless if they are in the ER or not?

Yes, If you get a defense boost from any attacker (vendetta or not) there's no downside to being in one. Think about it.

I thought early on Nick stated while being in a vendetta your would take a defense pentilty, that wasn't the case in beta and to my knowledge that hasn't changed.

I thought the purpose of all this was for smaller players to band up to strike back at larger players. Currently the largest players can team up to assure they'll never lose a fight from anyone close to thier size.

I have to applaud Rhino for using the optimum vendetta defense. Reduce your turfs to an inf of 1 , making them practically uncapturable and therefore impossible to destroy. You at least keep half your money and the turf location. Now it's just a matter of whether your cash reserves can service your weapons upkeep until the vendetta ends and you can rebuild. Nice one 👏

Case in point. I have taken 8 turfs from Johnnyo. I have about 100 more mob than him, normally I could not win but I have taken them easily since his defense is reduced because he is in a vendetta and I am not.

Well that is good news. Does his vendetta show up on defense when you attacked? Maybe some message noting your target defense is lower because of being in one. (rather then manually checking someones profile)

Nope, simply a player atk v a player def. No changes to the old screen.

And similarly...Mamatek just swiped several of my turfs. She's just above my mob size...but would not be able to capture my turfs normally, if I wasn't in a Vendetta.

The easy way to see who is in the ER in your target vendetta is to just click thru their names at the top of the vendetta screen. If they are in the ER their "fight" tab will be greyed out.
Any defenders who are not in the ER will show up when you attack their vendetta.
Players in a target vendetta who are out of attack range of you or your vendetta will not show up in the vendetta attack text, nor are you able to attack them to put them in the ER.
I think there is a bug currently on vendetta mobs that are out of range - for instance, Night was a target in our vendetta yet he wasn't attackable and never showed up as a defender. On the other hand, he could attack us.
