Does influence multiply? Does it prevent someone from dropping turf? Anything or wasted effort putting turf too close

I'm experimenting with it, seems the only real reason to group close or not is for protection, either to avoid it from bigger players , or to claim it from lower influence turfs. If you group and a higher player drops a turf in the middle with higher influence you will have to pay. Not yet found a reason to group other than to take advantage of lower level turf you can be payed protection on. I'm still inexperienced, I'm expecting my turfs to be levelled soon with what im doing :p

It's not a good idea to group your turf together. It makes it that much easier for someone to cap it all, or collect protection. Influence does not multiply. It's better to spread your turf out - especially in cities that aren't your home city.
