This big bully hasbeen capturing my turf for the longest time and has now a high turf count at 130. I have negative income because of this. So I keep to abt less than ten percent of his total infl. But he still manages to capture my turf. I believe he may have torn down in order to do so because no one else around here is big enough to take him on. A short while ago, his total turf was reduced to 120. Is there any reason why anyone would want to do that except to reduce influence in order to capture more of mine. Obviously the personal vendetta here may be quite real. Please advise.

You usually tear down turf because its income has lowered to a level less than you desire IF you are able to drop pins. After you cap turfs in your area, your income will drop.

You can then wait for other players to build more,
Move or
Redistribute your pins to other areas where they make more income
Build a bridge, etc.

Ive done it due to A caputed turf to impove an existing one, extending the infuence in a direction more preferable

Humboldt pretty much answered your question. Because if he just wanted to lower his influence, he could sell upgrades on his turfs until he had the desired total influence rating. So yes, I agree as well that he was probably trying to drop enough turfs to get below his turf limit.

Thanksso much for your replies. It's really weird cos he's now dropped from 130 to 66 in a matter of hours and hasn't rebuilt. Any thoughts?

Who is he?

Maybe he is planning on moving to another area.

dude called sandfire. Suspect he's chickening out cos of vendetta. He's made enough enemies lol.
And they fixed the bug on the income so now I've to sell stuff lol.

Is he tearing down turf or is someone capturing it? Maybe he did make some enemies and he's tearing down because of vendetta. If he tears down, he gets the money. If a vendetta tears it down, he loses big.
