Attack and defense respect points

I remember seeing this talked about somewhere else, but, how beneficial is it to add ur respect points to ur atk and defense?

It is not very helpfull as the points you invest on are identical to points you get with equiped mobs

When the game first came out and mobs were small thesebpointsbwerebfairly useful
