How do I stop people from taking my money for protection

Get your turf up to equivalent inf with those around it. To do that you need to do enough missions. You could alternatively tear down a turf and rebuild elsewhere but when you're around other people the turf makes more money.

Dont use Don Points get protection with ingame $$.

If you use in game cash, you can still get busted on missions (but at slightly reduced rate). If you use don points, you won't get busted on missions.
