Is there a way you can stop paying police protection?

Um there are two types of police protection... The good when you buy it from the missions board for a week and the bad when you don't buy it and they tax you much more. Buy it from missions window.

Become a capo. Find some small suburb where nobody plays and plant yourself in it.

You can use Respect points police protection, but it's better to get it on the mission boards with in-game cash.

And you don't pay protection in the towns where you are Capo.
