New player turf

Hello, I’m a new player and I’m having trouble placing turf. I live in hawaii and the only green spots are too far from a road. The entire island is covered with red except micro spots here and there that have this road distance issue. So pretty much I can’t play this game because I can’t claim a turf? There are thousands of 1 influence turfs near me. Any advice would be appreciated.

There are clearly some that aren’t near a road, and some that are but it won’t let me claim the spot.

Just click on their turf, click on player and then go to comments and do a private comment asking them
