A little tip worth considering if you have just started TW or are considering joining a family;
Being a member of any family is not the same as joining the right family.
So if you have just joined it may be best to play solo for the first few levels, observe and see the ‘lay of the land’ and how each family’s game play or style is.
Being on your own does not mean you’re completely vulnerable.
No need for ‘invite please’ or ‘add me’ to any family recruitment thread straight away.
Take your time and see what’s best suited to you.
Alternatively if you really wish to join a family there are some decent families out there who are willing to take on enthusiastic recruits and show them the ropes.
If you display the right characteristics they may accept you.
Remember; the ‘Family’ forum is full of starter families that have “join my family, all invites accepted” posts. -
These families tend to be made up of players that dont hang around for long and may have a discouraging affect on your desire to continue playing.
Like I said: joining any family is not the same as joining the right family.
Consider your options.Remember you do not need to post your invite code to look for a request to join a family, the game developers make this quite clear-

Some new players join, see the family feature and straight away form their own family. They advertise for recruits and for one reason or another leave.
However, subsquently joining new players who wish to join a starter family will continue to seek membership-pugshark wrote:
The best is when noobs make a family and post here, then quit playing. Then the thread keeps getting bumped by other noobs asking for invites.
This results in old defunct posts remaining active and bumped.
This advice can be applied to the tournament section; almost all of the first page of tournaments are being kept active due to new guys joining and leaving after realising the tournament will never start, resulting in the tournament not reaching the auto-delete stage. -
New players also seem to add random “invite please” or “add me” within this thread.
It won’t be long until a random request is added here, and they probably don’t even know what they are requesting!
I’m not recruiting, just creating a platform to share the Family feature insights and allow new and veteran players exchange advice.Joining an established family also brings some points to consider-
• a family may have historic and current enemies and therefore can make you a target by association.
• this can also have many positives: established players have much bigger mobs and can offer protection to players whos’ game style is predominently aggressive or looking to get involved in wars.
• in this scenario, a new player can learn how to best utilise their stats and identify areas where to improve and focus their efforts.
Regardless of a players stats or mob size, there is a place in the game for every type of player. -
If you are looking to join a family or are recruiting for a family you do not need to create multiple threads re the same- one will suffice that can be bumped if required.
Also, be advised that some families merely recruit to fill number quotas without any regard for any other family criteria or structure.
These families may also be of little use for a player looking to really play the game.Recently there has been a few new ‘start up’ families established with the aim of seeing new players through the game and retention of those new players long term. They recruit new and vet players alike to help guide and protect. They have structure and a forward plan.
These are ideal starting points for ‘family life’.
Even though the family boss is relatively new to the game they have demonstrated a good understanding of the Turf Wars community and game dynamics.
Establishing Turf Wars diplomacy first is every bit as important as the fighting elements. -
Families create alliances with other large established families based on this ethos.
Within the family tab there are two chats; Real-Time News Beta for the whole community and Family chat, a private forum for those assigned members.
Please be respectful of the Beta chat if you participate, there is no need to post your invite code. We have a dedicated forum for that. -
It’s often helpful to pm the person that started the thread, rather than just posting “I’ll join” in it. Many players make threads then forget to check them. That’s true for vendetta threads too.

Can I join more than 1 family?

Yes but only 1 family at a time. You must leave a family to join a family. Can I join more than 1 family?
If you leave a family and wish to re-join, you must wait 7 days before you can re-join. -
Interesting read, thanks DML!

This is more good info.

I made a family way back when I got my friends to play too and I got them to join it, only one of them is still active. From what I saw as a noob with the family- if you just make a family for you and your friends you got nothing to lose but you got nothing to win either, you just have quick acces to their profiles. If I don't understand something or of there is any gameplay boost or downside provided by the family please ping me in dm
