▔▔▔▔▏Beginner's Guide Section 5.1
⦁ Your mob is a number. Not an alliance. It is perfectly ok and even expected to attack/be attacked by members of your mob.
⦁ *Arming your mob - It does you no good to have more weapons than mob members. If you buy 10 shanks but have only 5 mob, you will only use 5 shanks when attacking or when being attacked.
⦁ Weapons, melee and armor are automatically equipped. The game uses your best defensive weapons when you're attacked and your best offensive weapons when you attack others.
⦁ For more information, see "HOW TO: Arm your mob" by 👿Belial in the Help & Strategy forum.

⦁ If you want to capture someone else's turf, you need to have a higher attack than your opponents defense. (You have to be able to attack the turf and win at least once.) You can find your attack (and defense) stats under the "Market" tab. You may be able to estimate your opponents defense based on their mob, but you can get an exact number by using a "stat calculator" such as the one located at: http://turfwarsuk.com/mobile/calc.php
⦁ A turfs influence has no bearing on your ability to capture it. In other words, a 1 influence turf won't be any easier for you to cap than an 86 influence turf of the same player.
⦁ For more on capturing turf, see ChainsawCharlie's "HOW TO: Capture Turf Rev. 12/10" thread in the Help & Strategy forum.

▔▔▔▔▏Beginner's Guide Section 5.3
There are a lot of inactive players in this game. Please do not capture turfs from these players. Those turfs will never be replaced, and capturing just one of them may lower the property values for the rest of us. It's much better to "tax" inactives (with loot upgrades if necessary) than cap them.
⦁ If you're not sure of a players status, see Hyena's post in the Help and Strategy forum, "How to tell if a player is inactive 😴."
-
Mystery says:
PSA: I want to clarify why it's a bad idea to cap inactive people. First you must understand, you need 10 different players in an area (defined as the diameter of 3 86 inf turfs) to make the max income for a turf (up to $53.6k per turf without protection $ or loot upgrades). So you want lots of different people all over. Inactive people will not plant more turf; by capping their turf you hurt everyone's income. Work on planting fewer turf strategically so they earn the most money, rather than having a lot of turf that doesn't earn well. This will also help keep you under your limit so that you aren't stuck in 1 area. (Plus, inactive people don't complain or move their turfs if you collect protection $ from them!) Always check if a player is inactive before capping.

⦁ "Protection Money" is just a phrase. If your turf is paying protection money to another players turf, you do not actually receive any type of protection from that player.
⦁ For more, see Mystery's threads in the Help & Strategy forum: "🚓Police Protection vs Protection Money Explained🚓" and "💰Things That Can Negatively Effect Your Income💰."
⦁ The Bank - Almost every experienced player agrees that the bank's 15% "handling fee" is too much. It's not worth using the bank unless you have a LOT of enemies who are constantly attacking you.

▔▔▔▔▏Beginner's Guide Section 5.5
⦁ When you equip your turf with loot upgrades, be very aware of the nearby players that you take protection money from. If their mob is larger than yours, expect to lose your turf. And your loot.
⦁ Someone, at some point will capture one or more of your turfs. When this happens, trash talking that player will likely result in more of your turfs being capped. Losing a couple of turfs is really no big deal. You should probably just ignore it and rebuild. If it really bothers you, try respectfully, and politely asking them not to cap anymore of your turfs. Maybe even go so far as to congratulate them on their newest acquisition. You may end up making an ally.

⦁ "Turf hopping", or just hopping is a method of claiming turf in a different city when you can't physically go there to claim turf.
〓ℛᎾℂᏦᎽ〓 says:
The concept is putting turf in front of each other in the direction of your destination until you reach it. If you run into your turf limit remove all turfs except the lead turf that's in front and keep moving forward.
If you have loot upgrades, you can also equip them on the turf(s) to extend your hop further than an 86 influence turf. Always remember to unequip loot before tearing down turf. If not, you will lose your loot.

⦁ *Advertising your code - When posting your invite code in the forums, make sure you're in the correct forum. Posting invite codes anywhere other than the Invite Codes forum will land you in hot water with other players and with the moderators resulting in profile attacks, turf attacks, and possibly a forum ban.
⦁ For maximum visibility don't just post your code as a reply to someone else's thread. Create your own thread and put your code in the header.

⦁ *Respect Points - Whether you are able to/intend to spend real money on this game or not, you can get 5 free respect points every 24 hours by going to The Don and either watching a promotional video or downloading and launching another app. Everyone should take advantage of this offer, but if you're not going to purchase any "Don Points" then you should save these daily points and use them for a custom invite code (optional) and turf limit increases (very important!).

You may come across 1 influence "pins" on the map. Possibly owned by high level mobsters. Why would they not upgrade these turfs? Surely they have the money to do so. Did they build the turf and then forget about it?
No, this is actually done for strategic reasons.
If you have 4 or less influence in any area, that area doesn't show up in your turf list when sorted by country/state/province/city. Those turfs can only be seen by others if they tap the button to see the "full list" and then look through hundreds or even thousands (depending on the player) of turfs. "Pins" are actually an attempt to hide turfs from other players.

⦁ A cannoli is a loot item that refills your energy. A toolbox is a loot item that doubles your loot. Save your cannoli and toolboxes. 2-3 times a year there are special occasions where you get double loot for a weekend or more. (Equip a toolbox and you'll get 4X loot!) These special occasions are also the only time you can loot the ultra-rare, ultra-powerful bren gun. Use your cannoli and toolboxes during these times only.

⦁ Big alliances try to control airports. After using a plane ticket, hop out of the airport immediately. Keep a turf or two 5-10 miles away so you can hop back in when you want to fly. Leave some turf in the airport if you want to but those turfs will have a much higher risk of being captured by an alliance trying to take over the airport.

There is another, highly lucrative way of earning money but it will most likely require you to wait until you are level 50. Look at the top mobsters leaderboard for influence. These mobsters have 10's of thousands of turfs and they are all way over their limit. The only way they have of acquiring new turfs is by capturing them. These players are usually very open to being taxed and a lot of players make deals with them. If any of these players have turf near you, you can arrange to make "flowers" for them. A flower is a group of turf built as close to each other as you can get them. The over limit mobster will capture all of the turf except the center one which you will control. Add loot to this turf and you can make up to $1.2 million an hour on this single turf. Since the over limit mobster gets more turf they'll likely be glad to cap as many turf from you as you would like to tax.

▔▔▔▔▏Beginner's Guide - Conclusion
I hope this helps, and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Enjoy the game. Make some friends, make some enemies. Show some respect, but have some fun and always remember that in the end it's just a game.
Happy Turfing,

Artist: Frank Sinatra
Song Title: That's Life
Writers: Dean Kay, Kelly L. Gordon
That's life, that's what people say.
You're riding high in April,
Shot down in May.
But I know I'm gonna change their tune,
When I'm right back on top in June.
That's life, funny as it seems.
Some people get their kicks,
Steppin' on dreams
But I just can't let it get me down,
Cause this big old world keeps spinnin' around.
I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
But I know one thing:
Each time I find myself flat on my face,
I pick myself up and get back in the race.
That's life, I can't deny it,
I thought of quitting,
But my heart just won't buy it.
Cause if I didn't think it was worth a try,
I'd have to roll myself up in a big ball and die.

If whoever coded it originally wants it taken down, just PM and it will be taken down.
