Been ark for about a year, forgot how to fix the settings so my location settings are correct?

I believe he's talking about switching geocoders.

If he was, that wouldn’t make sense: you couldn’t chanhe geocoders within the app.

I remember when I last played this, someone had a similar issue and everyone showed us how to quickly trouble shoot out apps, so the game can actually pick up our location
I cant add new turf without it saying "rural areas" or if you look at my most recent, its days "greater meblourne" which is lazy for, towns further away from the city?
I simply want to get the towns back into my turf so (berwick, Victoria, australia) not just (,,victoria, Australia)

Dunn could probably teach you on how to search for old forum posts about the first thing, but for the latter, yeah, the game only uses one Geocoder now: OpenStreet. There’s no way to plant turf in old Capos so if you want one, you have to cap it from another old turf.

I think this still works.

You can search the forums with google by typing site:turfwarsapp.com before your search term.
