I always get charged protection by player who has much higher influence than me and I need to know if there's anything I can do to fend him off. He won't leave my turfs alone

He's taxing one of your turf. You can politely ask him to not tax you and to move his turf. Or you could tear your turf down and move it. I would also punch codes and get a bigger mob than him so you can whoop his ass if he won't play nice.

Yeah I've tried asking him to move his turf he won't, I've attacked it multiple times with friends until he had a low enough influence where I could try to capture it but his mob is just too big. Thanks though!

Not sure why new players think influence matters when capping. A 1 influence turf is no easier to cap than a 138. What matters is mob and how they are armed. To beat him punch codes and mob up. Your second issue is he is taxing you. He's not receptive to stopping so tear down the turf he's taxing and plant them somewhere else.
