Placing Turf

Just got back into the game after like 5+ years inactive but I live in a different city now. How do I place turf.
-
Go to the map and tap the new turf button.
-
Doesnt allow me since My other turfs are in another city
-
What city your other turfs are in doesn't matter.
Are you over your turf limit?
Does your gps location show correctly on the map? -
City my other turfs are in is Tucson AZ but I live in Atlanta now. When I try to place a new turf it says that Im too far away from my other turfs to place one. I can place them back in Tucson though through the map, but cant get any where I am now. Id rather not destroy all of my turfs either in an attempt to place one in Atlanta
-
Again, what city your other turfs are in doesn't matter. You didn't answer my other questions but based on what you have said it sounds like turf wars doesn't have a good fix on your gps.
Are you on android? Make sure location services are enabled and that you've given turf wars permission to use your location. I think some android devices have a battery saving option under location services. You'll need to turn that off. Then fully close and reopen turf wars.

Gps has a good fix, at the time I was not over the turf limit, and it has full permission to use location.
When I try to place a turf in my area im in now (Atlanta) it tells me that it is too far from my existing turfs. (Tucson)
I can still place turfs in Tucson and capture turfs, but that is not where I live anymore. It is not allowing me to place any turfs down unless it is in the vicinity of my previously placed turfs.

You are getting a warning that your new turfs will be on area discount. You can plant at current location and in thirty days they will be full strength.
-
You can always plant by gps location as long as you are under turf limit. But if you are more than I think 120 miles away from current turf you get an area discount same as using an airport.

I've had this glitch happen to me - long ago though. Try reloading the map, maybe even switch geocoders.

I was watching this thread since I was asking myself, if I had the same issue. My situation: Android 6 device, very good GPS lock, WiFi connection, not over limit and tested with both geo coders.
Since a road trip beginning of April, I noticed that I couldn't claim turf via gps. The map started always with my home location, although the cross hairs button would take me to my correct location immediately. Still, when hitting "new turf" I would either be getting an error or no green circle in which I could claim. Most promimently, this happened at a location which worked before.
Updating Google Play Services and Google Maps didn't help.
However, I just got an Android update (from my manufacturer) including a reboot and now it seems to work.
Maybe my post could help somebody.

At least I don't remember the last time I rebooted. So it is possible and it was one of my first thoughts as well.

Sometimes it's not the game itself...sort of. Some devices are so out of date that with the game versions some phones cant update to the latest one. I'm an android user. I had this same issue for a long time until I got a new phone and redownload the game. Logged back into my account and boom, everything worked as it shouldI also have the issue of not being able to place turf at my location via gps.
