Is there any point in upgrading those skills?

No. It's best to put it all into health until you Max it amd.then up energy and stamina

DO NOT PUT ANYTHING INTO ATTACK/DEFENSE. Why the game still has the option for new players to do this boggles the mind.

Capture decreases the radius that others can cap your turf from. It is very important if you're going to join a war.

Don't worry about capture until you're at a larger size and start getting into capping and being capped

Yes. How far they can be from you, and still cap your turf. The max of 250 decreases radius by 50%
