Sorry I'm kind of new to the game. I have the requirements to capture a turf but I can't win any battles, can I brute force my way to win the turf? Can I get the turf in a loss?

If you are beating on the thing and not pulling in any wins then you won't cap it. Need at least 1 win after the turf is at no health.

If you meet all the requirements, then I suspect your target is just too strong right now. Check their profile to see.
