How is the complete defense of the turf calculated in relation to the offense capability of the attacker? I have a player with twice my ranking stealing my turf, and I do not know the best strategy to keep that from happening.

Level means nothing. Both offense and defense depend on how much mob you have and how it is armed. To grow stronger you need to punch codes.

And if the other mob size versus my mob size is the only factor, what are the defense turf upgrades for?

Defensive turf upgrades are pretty much useless.

The defense upgrades generally just suck up all your money. Once in a while they can make a difference but only if you are close to the enemy in mob

The other big defense to your turf is not rushing to level. If you stay under level 50 while you grow mob big players can't cap you.
