I built a turf and put all the income upgrades on it that I could with the level I was on. Then a few hrs later I noticed that I was paying protection that was more then the income of the turf. This meant the turf was losing me money so I tore it down. Then I looked in my inventory and the upgrades that were on that turf were not there. What's up with that?

If you put on loot upgrades you have to unequip before you tear down or you lose them. For regular upgrades you get back half the cost when you tear.
