i have only been playing a short while but I plan to play a little aggressivly for my area. How do I increase the possible influence for my turf to capture another's?

To increase influence, build more turf. Your influence has nothing to do with your ability to cap others turf, increase your mob and arm them to be able to cap turf (Go check out: How to Arm Your Mob in the forums)

Please read up before handing out incorrect answers. The turf you use to cap another turf must have at least HALF of that turfs influence. To be able to increase your individual turns influence, you must level up to be able to buy more upgrades. However, I wouldn't recommend that you level up to quickly
