Okay, trying to capture this guy's turfs. All of the sudden, in the middle, at the end of the battle summary it says in blue to be careful, that the don is helping him out. What is this supposed to mean?

This will only happen when you attack someone below level15,As to what help he actually give...im unsure probably a health boost.

it means you need to pick on someone closer to you in size and strength.

That has nothing to do with it. The Don only steps in when a player is too far below you.
