Is there a way to get an airport added? I have a turf near one that I can't use the airport options. I wasn't able to build exactly on the airport because it knew that it was an airport.

There is only certain airports you can use. (Mostly in big cities) There's a list somewhere in the game

The list of usable airports can be found on the help page

Or just go to your home page and tap "airports". It will tell you the nearest airport to your location.
