Gearing your mob
Forums › Help & Strategy › Gearing your mob-
From what I've read and the items to buy as there are sets you can use, I'm still a little confused.
Can you only have 1 weapon, 1 armor and 1 melee per mob? So for example 1 shank, 1 gaelis and 1 vest?
Why do people suggest having grenades, gaelis and a vest, are the grenades considered melee?

Yes

Grenades have higher attack, Galesi a higher defense. While this is still valid information, it's an unlikely choice. Many people will have the non-upkeep set purely as backup.
The melee weapon for that 'set', is the cleaver.

First of all, melee and armor are straightforward, the upkeep stuff is better than the non upkeep stuff in attack and defend, so get what you need and want to pay for.
Weapons are more confusing because the concept that is harder to grasp is that the game chooses the best weapon for the situation. If you have 100 mob, and 100 Galesis, (attack 8, defend 9) and 100 grenades (attack 10 and defend 8), when you attack, it uses the better weapon for that situation, in this case the grenade at 10.
When you are attacked, it automatically selects the Galesis with the higher defensive rating of 9 each.
Same reason you see big badasses with tommies and Lapuas. I

The reality, though, is you are almost certainly better to go no upkeep under 10k, depending on where you are and who your possible enemies are. If you venture into airports and big cities, big time assholes like me are going to take whatever we want whether you have armor and lapuas or vests and galesis.
You might need to buy some upkeep weapons if you want to cap people your size, but if you are an inoffensive player looking to grow, hop a few miles out of the population and plant a "safety" when you get to a new area. Plant the rest where they can make some income and let it build up. The few turf you lose to players where full arms would have saved them can be replaced for far less than what you wasted on upkeep. If someone my size hits you, upkeep weapons won't help anyway.
You'll have money, so if it gets ugly between you and someone of similar size, you can arm up and kick their ass. Sell it all off again and the increase in income covers what it cost to buy and sell everything in a about a week.

what the big time asshole said

I appreciate how in - depth you went into explaining that, I understand it completely now so I thank you.
For now, I'm just punching codes in and trying to earn money so I can hopefully become a contender in the future.
