Turf building tips for noobs

It always helps to build turf near other players, as more players in an area = higher turf incomes.
The downside to this, is that while you are small, you may end up paying protection to stronger players with bigger turfs until you can upgrade to 84 inf.
One thing you should always do is build your turf if you have turf available to build. 1 inf turf almost always starts turning a profit form the go.
To keep your turf safe, build away from other players if you can. You make less money, BUT you keep the money you make.
Start with smaller turfs. Build to 18 inf only, if your funds are limited. You get a faster and better return on investment from the lower upgrades.

Also, even if the turf is only temporary...build it anyway. The first three upgrades will all have paid fro themselves within 36 hours. After that time...it's all profit.
After you have a nice bankroll, and have BUILT YOUR MOB, you will be better positioned to move into more crowded areas and build out to 84 inf. to avoid paying protection.

Very nice post chainsaw!

Nicely written Charlie!
I'd like to add that the most an 84 influence turf can make (that is not receiving any protection) is $52.3k. Always evaluate turf placement carefully. You can save yourself rl money & the possible necessity to cap if you have some well placed turf versus lots of poorly placed turf. It is also worth tearing down turf to reposition it, if necessary.

I posted this in the FAQ thread, but I think it's relevant here. When you build a turf, and it tells you your turf will make $xxx/hr, you can use the chart to see what that turf will make when you build it to 84 inf.
Please note-I put this together before Union Bosses came into play so these numbers are for turf without UB.
Turf income tiers based on # of players in an area
#.......1 inf..........84 inf
1.....$1.5k.........$9.5k
2.....$2.9k.........$18.7k
3.....$4.0k.........$25.8k
4.....$4.9k.........$31.3k
5.....$5.6k.........$35.9k
6.....$6.2k.........$39.9k
7.....$6.8k.........$43.5k
8.....$7.3k.........$46.6k
9.....$7.7k.........$49.6k
10...$8.2k.........$52.3k -
Nice chart. Anyone measured what the size of the area has to be (as in # of players in area?)
-
Think I figured out part of the answer to my question...if everyone is at turf influence of 84 then you can count the number of different owners of turf that you are within 3 turf diameters of ( as measured from the edge of your turf to the edge of their turf) and use chainsaws chart to determine how much you would make in a location before going there.
Unknown if the logic is affected by radius of either turf...if not then the logic would 8 84 turf radii from center to center but that is hard to visualize.
-
That seems about right. The three turf diameter.
When you tap to build a turf, it will tell you how much that turf will make at 1 inf., so you will know what it will make at 84.
BUT...sometimes the game may count your new turf as a new player and show the next increment up. Then when everything syncs, it drops one level. For example,it may tell you you will make $6.8 when it is really 6.2.
Just something to keep in mind.

Sure enough, 10 players seems to be accurate. I just need to work out an easy system for counting the number of players in the 3 turf diameter.

in order to earn protection money how much of the other person's turf needs to be covered?
