I was capturing a turf today. So the only thing he used against me was a Saturday night special whereas I used 35 grenades and 35 meat cleavers and more. I LOST? How did this happen and how can I beat him

Looks like an extremely new, low level player. He is winning because the Don protects players so inexperienced. Hammering this guy now is likely to run him out if the game in a hurry. You really don't stand anything to gain by attacking him.

Good advice above
Go to " fight"
You can find tons of inactives that won't fight you back if need be
Double loot weekend so do missions with" chance at loot" that will get you some much need weapons
