How exactly does fighting work, and how does your influence and mob amount correlate to your opponent you pick to fight?

You fight other players using stamina. You can fight other players as long as you have stamina and your health is above 30, otherwise you have to visit the "Emergency Room" to heal and/or wait for your stamina to regen.
Your strength is determined by a) the size of your mob, and b) how well your mob is equipped. There are several threads on how to properly equip your mob, but in general you want one weapon, one melee, and one armour PER mob member.

And you can find your own attack and defense numbers at the top of the "Market" screen.
Influence has no bearing on player attacks, but can be a factor when trying to capture turf.

You'll be getting a lot of code lists on your wall to start. Enter them all ('punching codes')! After a couple weeks, you'll have punched all the lists and gotten the bulk of invites you'll see. If you're still playing and looking to gain more mob, you use a website like ICM, which has around 65,000 and counting regular codes, plus the real gravy, temp codes. Good luck! 👍
