Turf hopping question
Forums › Help & Strategy › Turf hopping question-
Im too lazy to test this out myself, and I'm sure there are plenty of hopping experts here.
Is better to hop with the standard upgrades then tear down the turf? Or is it better to put the additional loot upgrades, build the next turf, pull down the loot, and tear down the turf.
Or maybe I should put loot upgrades for like 10 turf, then take them all off at the same time?
I don't know. I never did much hopping in my career anyways. -
Personal preference here - I only use loot upgrades when I have police maps. Otherwise I go with 86 inf cause I hate taking the extra time to equip/unequip the loot.

Seems faster to use 86's and just burn em down. I break out loot in patchy spots or if I only need a small increase.

This exactly, its easier to get into a rythem with 86's, makes it atleast seem faster even if its not?Seems faster to use 86's and just burn em down. I break out loot in patchy spots or if I only need a small increase.

I recall a race occurred to test this and the loot user won. I'm not sure how though....

I disagree. I feel like I get nowhere using just 86's.Seems faster to use 86's and just burn em down. I break out loot in patchy spots or if I only need a small increase.
I hop with 135 inf using only 1 turf to hop. I don't like to leave trails & I get annoyed having to tear down a bunch of turf rather than as I go along. Plus, if you are hopping in a crowded area, the higher your inf, the more it costs to plant turf. So leaving a trail increases the cost.
Hopping with 86 inf is more expensive too because you are planting closer to your own turf. If I'm hopping with no one else around, at 135 inf it costs me $1k to plant. At 86 inf, it costs me $2.4 million to plant.
Hyena is correct. Atla won the turf hopping race using loot.

Atla won the race using just 2 turf & hopping with 135 inf. For anyone interested, here's the link to the race thread:

Do you mean with 'hopping with one turf' not tearing down the others?
-
I was just hopping with loot, but I was leaving a line before coming back unequipping the loot.
It seems faster, but more tedious. -

Sorry! 😂 I mean hopping with only 2 turf & tearing down as you go. It would be hard to hop with only 1 turf. 😂😂 (I'm laughing at myself.)Do you mean with 'hopping with one turf' not tearing down the others?

Where were you doing this? Just for curiosity sake of course.😁I was just hopping with loot, but I was leaving a line before coming back unequipping the loot.

I second all of mystery's points, espceially when hopping in crowded areas. Too expensive to hop with 86s. But watch out for lurking loot whores.
In the middle of nowhere, i mix it up. Hopping with 86s is my usual approach, but i do like the $1K cost when using 135s.
Some of my crew say for ultimate speed, screw the grafitti and collectors. Too many punches and not worth their minimal input to build radius.

A couple players I know had a race, one used 135's, the other 75's (no collectors or graffiti). I can't remember specifics of whether they left trails or tore as they went, but, the 75's were definitely faster, but ended up being more expensive. Some of my crew say for ultimate speed, screw the grafitti and collectors. I found this interesting so I just did a test. I can still plant for only 1k (with no one else around) not using graffiti & collectors. They don't seem to add a lot to build radius, as you said. They could be limited to use for hopping in expensive areas or around dead spots. (Anytime I need to use a police map I raise my turf to 138 inf.)Some of my crew say for ultimate speed, screw the grafitti and collectors.
