Do unused weapons help me at all?

Keep the ones you get from looting that you can't buy. In someways it shows it long you've been playing. If they're upkeep and not tommy's, lapuas, or body armor sell it. I stay stocked on what I would need if I was broke. Some you might need for missions

Yes, for example bazooka's are always unused but they get used when you attack turf I believe. Same concept when you have Tommy's and Lapuas, Tommy's are used for attacking (because higher attack) and Lapuas are used when you are being attacked (because they have higher defense). It's a TW phenomenon that you never see, they just switch as it the event happens. That's why people who can afford it use both.

This is just what I'm guessing so please correct me if I am wrong.

You can see the switch for Lapua's and Tommmy's. when managing your inventory just change the set up from mob to a turf.

Hmmm... How do you "change set up from mob to turf" in managing your inventory?

Assuming you know how to go to the manage inventory screen.
At the top of this is a box that says "YOU" click the arrow next to this and select any of your turfs.
