I probably know the answer, but tell me anyways just in case.

Most importantly, vendettas. If you are sitting in the ER, you will not assist your allies in attacks or defense. Sometimes, in the case of attacks, it's okay because you're conserving stamina, which is not used by your v while you sit in the ER. Secondly, player attacks for xp , cannot reach you if you are ER'd.

Your health also limits the speed at which you can attack, whatever your reason. While you heal, your enemy has time to heal himself or his turfs.
