OK, so I read on the updates page that after 6 weeks of being inactive anyone can attack you can cap your turfs regardless of level. Does logging in on the TW forums online on my pc count as being "active"

I believe what you read was incorrect. Being inactive does not lower any of your stats in any way

The change is that players can get close enough to cap inactives that they couldn't get close enough to cap before. The 10% rule, etc still applies.

I have noticed that the don doesn't seem to protect the really old inactives anymore.

If you are only logging in for the forums, why does it matter?
